Design & sampling / Farhan Exports

Leather bag design and sampling.

From a technical pack or an early direction, develop the materials, proportions and construction with Farhan Exports’ in-house team. The sample gives the collection a shared physical reference.

Agree the sample brief, revisions and dispatch arrangements with the team. Allow time to review the sample in hand before bulk production.

The development file

Give the sample a clear starting point.

The shape
Send front, side and interior views with dimensions. State what the product needs to carry and how it should be worn or held.
The materials
Specify the leather type, feel, thickness and colour. Include lining, thread, hardware, edge treatment and branding references.
The order
List quantities by style and colour, destination market and target receiving date. Include the belt-size assortment where relevant.
The requirements
Share quality criteria, test requirements, labels, packaging and supplier-onboarding information.

Make the material decisions together

Colour, feel and construction.

Choose a colour direction, then review how the leather works with the intended structure. A soft shoulder bag and a structured tote may need different constructions even when they share a colour.

Use our leather, cotton lining and fitting-finish cards to prepare a shortlist. Screens are a starting point; confirm the physical material reference and finished sample before approval.

From first sample to approval

A simple development sequence.

  1. Share and review

Bring the drawings, dimensions and material references together. Agree the details to develop with the in-house team.

  2. Sample and refine

Review the sample with its intended contents. Send one revision list with marked photographs or drawings showing each change.

  3. Approve and record

Identify the approved sample version, construction, components and finish. Agree any outstanding revisions, substitutions and inspection criteria.

  4. Confirm the production order

Confirm quantities, payment, packing and delivery terms. Production takes 75–90 working days from order confirmation or receipt of the 30% advance, whichever is later.

Minimum order: 100 pieces across the range. For handbags this is per colour, per style; accessory assortments are recorded in the quotation. Payment is 30% advance, with 70% due when goods are ready for dispatch.
