A first range can grow quickly: another colour, a second strap, a matching wallet. Before adding more, decide what each piece contributes. Start with the products you need for launch, then build an order plan that shows the styles, colours and quantities clearly.
Give each style a role
Choose the lead handbag and decide what the other pieces add. A compact shoulder bag may serve a different occasion; a wallet may complement the main style. Put the intended use and price position beside each product so the manufacturer understands the range.
Build the style-and-colour grid
List each style, colour and quantity separately. Farhan Exports’ handbag minimum is 100 bags per colour, per style. Two styles in two colours each start at 400 bags. Check every combination, then review material and component requirements with the team.
Connect the materials
Look for shared leathers, lining colours, hardware finishes or branding across the range. These can give the collection continuity. Review suitability for each product: a wallet and a soft handbag may need different leather behaviour even when the colours match.
Choose what comes first
Separate launch essentials from later additions. If budget or timing tightens, you will know where to simplify. Discuss whether to develop everything together or use a lead style to establish the materials first. Keep unapproved additions out of the confirmed production plan.
Work back from the launch
Share the dates that are fixed and those with flexibility. Allow time for material decisions, sample review, revisions, approval, production and delivery. Agree the schedule with the manufacturer, including when your team must provide artwork and feedback.
Send the commercial picture
Share the style-and-colour grid, target quantities, destination and delivery window. Include a target price where available and state its basis. Ask which decisions affect feasibility, cost and timing, then update the plan as the samples develop.
Give each category a reason to be there.
Choose a lead product and decide which pieces support it. A tote and wallet can share a leather or colour while keeping separate layouts and quantities. Write the assortment down by style and colour, add belt sizes where relevant, and check the sample budget and receiving date before expanding the range.
